If an archaeological site is determined to be eligible for the National Register, the impact a particular project may have on the site must be evaluated. If possible, the avoidance of the site would provide a no impact/effect determination. If the site cannot be avoided an adverse effect determination would be made and a Phase III data recovery project may be implemented. A mitigation type project or additional data recovery at the site may be conducted prior to site impacts. This would allow for mitigation of these impacts and the recovery of significant information. Southeast Archaeology guides our clients through each step of their project to reach their needs while protecting these important resources.
